With 1 in 5 Australians experiencing a mental health problem each year, chances are we all know someone—whether a friend, family member or colleague—facing these challenges, even if we don’t realise it.
Our Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) course equips adults with the practical skills, knowledge, and confidence to provide initial support to someone experiencing mental health issues or a crisis.
Overview
Who Should Attend
This course is ideal for adults from all walks of life, including:
Employers and HR professionals looking to support staff wellbeing.
Teachers, community leaders, and caregivers who regularly interact with individuals facing mental health challenges.
Any adult interested in becoming more proactive in mental health support.
No prior knowledge of mental health is required—just a willingness to learn and make a positive impact.
Promote Steps & Pathways to Support
Learn how to recognise signs and symptoms of common mental health problems and provide initial support until professional help is available.
Empower People to Assist
Gain the confidence to intervene early, both in the workplace and in everyday life, and help guide someone toward professional support.
Reduce Stigma & Misinformation
Equip yourself with the knowledge to challenge and reduce the stigma surrounding mental health, fostering a more open and supportive environment.
What Participants will gain
Learn how to confidently recognise, respond to, and support those experiencing mental health challenges.
Upon completing the course and assessment, you’ll be certified as a Mental Health First Aider (MHFAider), with accreditation valid for three years.
Key Outcomes
Fantastic course, much needed. A lot of the material touched on things that I have personally experienced and would have loved to have someone with MHFA (skills) support me the way the course teaches MHFAiders to do. The more MHFAiders out there, the better.
